I know what you're thinking by looking at these pictures....just WHAT is the milestone here? Surely Delaney has been to Target before?? YEP, she sure has BUT SHE HAS NEVER SAT IN THE CART!!!! Delaney is one of those babies who typically falls asleep in the car. So, whenever we get somewhere I leave her in her car seat and put it in the cart. But not today!! We went for Delaney's Christmas/9 month pictures and broke out her cart/high chair cover (thank you Eddie Bauer for making it in our "signature colors") and she sat up like a big girl. And yes, as you can imagine this was very hard for this momma to see (I won't even talk about the fact that last night she sat in a restaurant high chair for the first time!!) Here she is when we got there....
She did a great job for her pictures (which required a wardrobe change and of course aunt Julie to go with us because as she always says "Delaney is a two man (or in our case woman) job!) so we just stayed and did some grocery shopping which obviously wore out Delaney. I just know she's saying "mommy, please pay the lady so I can go to...............
sleep"...................................
*note we did figure out how to put the back part of the cover on so that way Delaney was completely "germ safe" from the cart! Too bad we won't be using it again until Spring. When we got home, the UPS man made his daily delivery and it got me to thinking....we can obviously have our clothes delivered......we can sign up for
www.peapod.com to have our groceries delivered and if we don't leave the house, we won't need gas in our car.............so we just may not leave the house until then!
