Pool's Open!!

While Delaney napped today they came to open up the pool.  When I went in to get her I told her. She marched herself right into the kitchen to look out the window to see for herself.  Then she marched herself right back into her room and brought out her puddle jumper and sat it up on the counter and told me "pool".  I don't even know how she knew her puddle jumper was in her closet!  Little Miss Delaney is going to be getting private swim lessons this summer from cousin Cerelle.  Little Miss Delaney must think she's a Kardashian or something!!!

 Tonight Delaney told me her baby needed her diaper changed so she went in her room and got into her diaper bag and brought out the wipes and a diaper!  Oh you should hear how she says diaper, it's the cutest little thing.

At 25 months, I decided it was time to introduce Delaney to "Jake".  For those of you who have not seen this movie, WHAT PLANET ARE YOU FROM??????????? I decided Delaney probably should not be watching "Don't Be Tardy For The Wedding" so Sixteen Candles it was! I don't think I could ever get tired of watching it....................

  

Here are some fun things Delaney did today:

• I couldn't find my car key (a daily occurrence) so Delaney went to the junk drawer and opened it and handed me the spare key!
• When I got her out of the car I told her to stand right by me as I reached for the diaper bag.  When it was time to walk, she looked up and said "hand".
• She got a hold of my drink and went and grabbed a coaster to sit under it.
• When I laid her down for a nap she had not yet "done her daily business" so after a few minutes when I heard her talking I went in to her room to see if she had (especially since when I walked in she said "poopy") but she hadn't.  She was wet.  So that was the first trip. I changed her diaper.  A few minutes later I still heard her talking.  I went back in her room and she was standing up pointing to her wet diaper I left on her dresser saying "trash".  I could hear her from the living room saying trash and knew she wasn't talking about the trash truck since it was Sunday.  She is obsessed with trash and throwing stuff away!.  So, finally for a 3rd time I had to go in there to see why she was still talking....she "did her business".
• Oh, and we I found her toothbrush today IN THE SOFA CUSHIONS!! Nice try Delaney!

Future Photographer????

I know you're probably wondering why in the heck I am posting these pictures.  Well, I just wanted to show you what Delaney has been up to.  The girl has an extremely unhealthy obsession with my phone (make that anyone's phone)!  I love to look and see all of the pictures Delaney has taken when I wasn't looking!  She has figured out more on my phone than I ever could (as in she called her grandma on it the other day) and can rotate the camera so she can see herself in it as she takes the picture!  I'd say she needs a little work..............

 She unfortunately can still use the camera when the phone is locked.  Bless her little heart she tries so hard to figure out mamma's code!  (And, if she tries often enough the phone will lock and awhile back while at the mall she locked it for an hour)!!!  I wish she'd spend less time on my phone and MORE TIME TRYING TO FIND HER TOOTHBRUSH!! (don't worry, we have a backup).

FYI, I have put up the St. Patrick's Day post so you will have to scroll over to March on the right and then scroll down to March 17th.  STILL working on Easter and her Birthday!  It seems like all pictures are now taken on my phone and my computer is not recognizing it when I plug it in to download the pictures!  It is SOOO frustrating.  I called Apple and they started talking all "computer talk" on me and talked about Wizards and all sorts of stuff I don't know about! Just send a Wizard to fix it would ya!!!

Not Much To Blog About..............

Delaney has really been enjoying playing with her birthday presents.  Her birthday celebration lasted for a good solid three weeks!   And yes, I know, I still owe you a birthday blog post!

"We're Sorry"........

I don't really have a good excuse for why I haven't been blogging.  Oh wait, yes I do, on Wednesday last week I diagnosed myself with the flu which luckily only lasted a day and then I was "self diagnosed" with a nasty head cold so there you have it.  I thought I would at least post a picture of Delaney for you!  (Her "boo boo" is healing nicely and I'm finally getting over my head cold which is good because I just used the last of the Kleenex!!).  

A Boo Boo Worth Blogging About

If it looks like I am pushing up Delaney's head with one hand and taking a picture of her with the other, you're right!  Delaney climbed on the end table and onto the sofa and fell off the sofa and got up and laughed.  Then she fell off her pony and got up and laughed.  But when she fell into the side table and I saw blood, I knew she was NOT going to laugh!  I picked her up and took her into the bathroom for a kleenex to wipe the blood (that she did NOT know about) and she grabbed the kleenex from the box and wiped her tears! So, I thought her first "bloody boo boo" was worth blogging about.  Then we went to the freezer and got out her boo boo bunny!

There are only two things that will make me wake a sleeping baby..........

Oh, and the second thing you ask??? A burning house of course...(I bet you thought I was going to say a Macy's One Day Sale!!)  Delaney was mesmerized by the characters and did really well.  She got a bit antsy toward the end and we decided her attention span is about an hour.  When we got home she handed me the remote and said ELMO!!!  Thank you for the Elmo bow Holly!!!

P.S. I know you all are about to revoke my blogger license since I am sooooo behind on getting up our posts (the ones that come to mind are St. P's Day, 2nd Birthday and Easter).  I really do have good intentions every night when Delaney goes to bed to do them but then I find myself watching the new season of Giuliana & Bill!!!!!

The Easter Bunny of 2012 didn't disappoint (and he may or may not have recycled some basket goodies).  The Easter Bunny also likes to "hop" to the Dollar Spot at Target!

 I didn't take a picture this year of our table set up (or our delicious Honeybaked Ham) since it looks like every other year so I took pictures of MUCH cuter things...........It was a gorgeous day so an egg hunt was in order!

 I bought this dress for Delaney before she was born.  It was an 18 month so it was too big for her first and second Easter but I knew she "had to have it" so I decided it would fit for her third Easter.  I brought it home and her dad said "that shows too much skin, she will need to wear a sweater over it".........NO PROBLEM, back to Macy's I went!

SomeBUNNY Wasn't Very Happy!!!

I wish I could just post this picture and let it speak for itself.  But that's not going to happen! On my mission for a better Easter bunny setup than what our local mall offered, I found what I THOUGHT was going to work.  This picture doesn't show how cute it really was!  Delaney sat in her stroller and played peak-a-boo with the bunny and waved to him so I thought when it was our turn this was going to be a piece of cake!  I said I "thought"........

Even the sucker didn't do the trick.  She did not and I repeat did NOT like the Easter bunny this year but that did not stop this mom from getting the obligatory picture.  Delaney wouldn't sit long enough to even get a picture so I found myself sitting next to the Easter bunny (with no lipstick on I might add) and I held Delaney while the Easter bunny stood next to me.  And I would love to show you that overpriced picture BUT IT DIDN'T MAKE IT HOME WITH US!!!!!  So if you know me personally, then you know "this stuff only happens to me".  Who takes their kid to a mall a half hour away and doesn't come home with the picture???????  ME, that's who!  I am just glad I only bought one overpriced picture!!!!  Less money down the drain.............

And, had I not been able to take pictures on my cell phone we would have marched ourselves right back to the mall for round two!  Yes, even after knowing Delaney was scared!  Every time I ask her about going to see the Easter bunny she says her version of "scary"!!

I really try............

Wordless Wednesday

HELP?????

Can someone please tell me where I can take Delaney to see the Easter bunny and it won't look like this???  I mean what was I thinking?? We should have just left the mall when we saw this last year!  I cannot subject my daughter to this again.  It hit me just the other day that Easter is just around the corner and my kid hasn't gone to see the Easter bunny yet, I had yet to order our ham (If you don't get a Honeybaked Ham for Easter you are missing out!!) and we have none of our decorations out yet!!! We have a lot to do this week!  And, I am serious, I need to know where I can take her?  Does anyone know where there is a "set" that doesn't look so dated?

Trespassing

Is it considered trespassing if you take your kid to a playground in a subdivision you don't live in (and don't know anyone who does????)  The sun was shining so brightly I didn't even know if Delaney was looking at the camera (phone) when I took this picture.  I also had no clue she was doing that with her leg!  Maybe she's ready for ballet lessons???  Delaney has had a runny nose these past few days (so I'm not sure why her mom didn't have a jacket on her).  But who can blame her the weather forecast is going to be in the 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's this week!!! When I put the kleenex up to her nose and tell her to blow she blows with her lips (like she's blowing out candles) instead of her nose!!
