"Let Me Guess"

Delaney saw the commercial for Anthem of the Sea and said she wanted to go on it and before I could reply, she said "let me guess, my daddy wouldn't let me".  I love love love that she is "getting" him (and his craziness when it came to her)!!

"The Graduate"

Today was Delaney's Preschool Graduation or what I like to call THE LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!!! And NO ONE is more excited than me.  As soon as the alarm went off this morning, I shut it off for good (well, until Kindergarten at least).  How fitting, the ONE day in the history of preschool (two years) we were early! That just doesn't happen in "our world". As I was driving I had to do a mental checklist to confirm she A. ate breakfast B. brushed her teeth C. WAS IN THE CAR!!

Each kid was called up to get their "Diploma" and as Delaney got hers, the teacher said "my sweet Delaney, what am I going to do without seeing your smile". Delaney is always smiling. "Dear Delaney, may you always find something to smile about, I know I do"!  She also asked each kid what their favorite part of preschool was and my little brown noser said "getting to see Mrs. F" (#girlcanlayitonthick)!!!

They did a recap of what they learned in school, we hit the office to inform them she won't be returning next year (sniff, sniff) and then we did what you would expect the Newsom girls to do.....we hit the mall and lunch!! Delaney found a larger than life size Minnie Mouse that she thought would fit perfectly on her bed! I told her it was bigger than her bed and she would see Minnie soon enough she didn't need to take up residence with us! Her grandma said "well how much was it" in that grandma tone...you know the one!  I told her IT DIDN'T MATTER!!!

Before I know it, this will be the "real deal".

Delaney was so excited to get her "Diploma".

Doing a "silly face" group photo....

The teacher could have done a better job of matching Delaney's lei if you ask me!  (And the other moms could have done a much better job dressing their kids up for a luau).

It was such a bittersweet day having to say goodbye to her teachers and all of her classmates (well, all of them besides Emma, turns out her mom and dad really did get married)!  As you know from this blog, I could not be happier with Delaney's school and teacher (she had the same one both years). But I guess you can't stay in preschool forever.........

Here is a comparison from the first and last day of school this year.

And a whole lot of knowledge in between!

Mothers Day 2015

Mother's Day started early this year due to the fact that Delaney came home from school a few days before insisting that I open her gift she made at school.  She reminded me she painted it in my favorite colors!  Introducing my one of a kind work of art (that she wanted to hang in our kitchen)......

"Delaney" also got me this Kendra Scott necklace I have been stalking and by stalking I mean to go on sale WITH free shipping!  She said "I don't remember ordering that for you".

After our own version of "Say Yes to the Dress" which included trying on her dresses to determine which one she wanted to wear to our annual Mother's Day luncheon (trying on two, twice), she decided on.......

I wish I would have taken one of her standing up.  This is like a small person's business dress! When she tried it on (twice), I said "would you like to borrow my briefcase"?  She turned her head back around to me and said "You're Fired"....(think Donald Trump in Apprentice!!)

"Baby Charli"

This Blog post is not going to be about how NO WOMAN looks like this (or leaves) the hospital EIGHT hours after giving birth.  Or, how her hair is perfect and absolutely won't be about how she's able to wear her wedding ring......

It's about how I REALLY wanted to name Delaney Charlotte (and call her Charli)
And how Dave "ran" that name past his grandma and she said that the kids would think she was a boy and she didn't like it.......then it was "sorry Charli" for me!!!

I'm convinced this baby picture is photo shopped, I mean who holds a newborn with one hand??

Now back to "my" Charli, she told me today that Emma won't be at school on Wednesday because her mommy is marrying her daddy!
