Busy Monday!!

Delaney got all dressed up today---some of mom's co-workers came for lunch (and mom forgot to take a picture) and instead of having a "jammy day", Delaney decided she wanted to wear this pretty dress that she's never worn. Mom wasn't so sure it was going to fit seeing how it's a 0-3 months!! And we didn't forget the dressy shoes and socks!!
We thought we were going to be "all dressed up and have no place to go" today until grandma called and wanted to know if we wanted to go and make some basket deliveries. So, we went along for the ride (well, Delaney decided to take it as her opportunity to take a long afternoon nap). I know what you're thinking, this place could NOT have been on our list of deliveries BUT, it was! We thought it would be rude to not try a cupcake...........I thought the sign was so cute I just had to take a picture. But, as with most things, it's not what's on the outside that counts, it's what's on the inside...........
........and it counted (as in more calories than I'll ever care to know)...we got a strawberry cupcake and a wedding cake cupcake and split them. Too bad Delaney was still sleeping...
And, wouldn't you know, we had another delivery in the same strip mall as mom's favorite children's boutique, Pipers. Last time we were there, I got Delaney an adorable Christmas dress.
Here's what Delaney did the whole time we were in Pipers.....

So, I didn't get her approval before buying this dress...I couldn't resist! It will be awhile before she can were it though.
And then, when we got home, the tv repairman was in the driveway!! YEAH!! If you know my daughter, then you know how much she LOVES her tv (wonder where she gets it) so Delaney was quite happy to have it fixed!!

Busy Weekend

Delaney continues to love her baths.................and, it continues to take longer to "get ready" for her bath than the actual bath itself. Bath tub, washcloth, baby wash, diaper changer pad, lotion, towel, etc................ We decided it was a "Brown" day today so we color coordinated when we went out to dinner with grandma and grandpa. Mom also decided it was a "no hair dryer" day! This was the first time Delaney has worn this dress and I kept telling her it wasn't going to fit come morning. Despite it being a 3 month it was a big "snug"....
But she didn't care.........this has got to be the world's "smileliest" (yes, I realize that's not a word) baby! Of course her mommy eats up every smile!!! How Delaney can be 3 months old is beyond me. I feel like she was born 3 minutes ago.

And, this is what she's doing as I'm updating the blog (probably why I'm able to upload so many pictures on this post)! ha ha ha...Now, I just need to figure out a way to get her from this position to her crib without waking her up!

THE FOLLOWING PICTURES WERE ALL TAKEN ON MY CELL PHONE (NOT VERY GOOD PICTURES)........perhaps I need the new iphone4! ha ha ha.....

Our friends, the Wagners, sent me and Delaney some fun gifts. We got an edible arrangement (that included strawberries dipped in chocolate), a gift card to Fireside (one of mom's favorite restaurants) and Delaney got this adorable lavender bathing suit and hat! Thank you Ben and Colorado!!! We love ALL of it. Delaney, mom, and Amy hit the mall on Saturday. As shocking as this sounds, it was only Delaney's second time to the mall and she was of course "a natural".......This time, mom didn't forget to take "The Mommy Hook"---which this "mommy" highly recommends (we're quite sure it would have held a lot more bags)!! And, if you're looking closely enough to notice we bought FIVE one pound bags of Carmel Corn from the South Bend Chocolate Company THEY WERE NOT FOR US!!! (Amy did however treat us to a 1/2 pound of chocolate covered raisins)!

On Friday night, Amy came and stayed the night with us. Delaney and I waited on the porch for her (she loves sitting outside on the porch)...and then Delaney decided to take a nap as soon as she showed up.

"Anyone Know a Good Electrician?"

Poor Delaney, she had about all she could take watching the US Open on Sunday with Grandpa!! This is EXACTLY what she would have been doing with her daddy on Father's Day so I think he would be proud. And, daddy would be happy to see how well she paid attention!!
We even remembered to take our American Express (or, what we like to call, the vibrating seat---we DON'T leave home without it)!!! And, we DON'T know what we're going to do when Delaney outgrows it!!
So, wondering why we need an electrician?? Guess what Delaney's looking at...............??????? Grandma and Grandpa's ceiling fan!!! She loved it. Looks like we're getting one installed! ha ha

Pear Juice=No More Constipation for Delaney (hopefully)!!!

Delaney had a milestone yesterday, she got to have something other than formula....this turned into.............. which turned into.............
which turned into...(Delaney LOVING her pear juice). She is only allowed 1 oz. of pear juice mixed with 1 oz. of water (which is like a slurp for my daughter). Oh, and if you're wondering if it worked just ask Grandpa Mike because he found out first hand IT DID!!! We are so excited to incorporate this into Delaney's diet!!

Delaney also got some tummy time....(she's not big on it)

And then we had some visitors on Friday night. My two cousins (and if you're thinking they look young, as in HALF my age, you might be right). We had a fun Girls Night with a movie and pizza. I was hoping Delaney would be a handful that night so these girls could see how hard it is to take care of baby but instead Delaney was a perfect angel and of course slept through the night. These girls got up before she did! Great aunt Beth came for a visit too!

P.S. I could be as tan as these two if I got a summer job as a lifeguard like they did!! I just choose not to.

The Pools Are Open!!!

Introducing Delaney's Pool...............and Mom's pool..............
Our pediatrician doesn't want babies in pools until they're 4-5 months old (which of course is the end of summer) due to the chemicals. And, since Delaney can't wear sunblock until she's 6 months old, she's pretty much stuck with getting in her pool after the sun goes down!!!
Even though Delaney won't be getting in the big pool, there's no reason why she still can't be stylish in her baby pool. Cousin Elaine got this swimsuit and hat for Delaney (milk bubbles not included).....and no, she's not got one strap undone, it's halter!! I know, isn't it the cutest thing you've ever seen!

But, we're not done yet, Great Aunt Beth got Delaney her giraffe swimsuit with matching hat...

So, Delaney's toughest decision this summer is deciding which bathing suit to wear!!!!

Baby Hair Extensions

No, Delaney has not gotten hair extensions YET...but if she keeps "leaving hair" in her crib she just might have to. I went to change her sheet today and there was a pile of her precious baby hair on the sheet!

I have no clue why her eyes are so red in this photo. I had the red eye reduction turned on.
Oh well..........Have you ever seen anything so sweet??????? I know, me neither!! Delaney smiles ALL THE TIME NOW........................
Cousin Elaine bought Delaney this outfit so she is wearing it today and, as usual, looks just adorable in aqua. But of course, I am bias (and so is grandma Terry who is visiting today and helped decide which outfit she should wear). Grandpa Mike and Grandma Cathy have also been by today. I told them that I am going to start charging admission (no time like the present to start building up her college fund)!!

Oh, and if you're wondering we "graduated" the Moses basket and Delaney is now using her pack n play cousin Elaine got her. When I first put her in it she looked so tiny I said "she looks like a preemie" to which grandma Cathy replied "there's nothing preemie about Delaney". ha ha
Delaney decided she wanted to wear jeans for the first time last week. And, since I keep the house pretty cool, it was just fine to wear jeans. Country music singer, Mel McDaniel may have sang it...."Down on the corner, by the traffic light, everybody's looking, as she goes by, they turn their heads and they watch her till she's gone....Lord have Mercy Baby's Got her Blue Jeans On"

Notice the "amost gone bottle" in the background!!!

Delaney's shots

I know what you're thinking, I"m one of "those moms" who had to go and buy my daughter gifts for being so good when she went to get her shots!! NOPE, not the case. Grandma Cathy's friends, Chris and Carol in Texas sent Delaney these videos! She can't wait to watch them!!!!!! Thank you Chris and Carol. I should have titled this blog "Delaney's shot" because I AM one of "those moms"...you know the ones who won't let their kids get multiple immunizations at one visit! So, Delaney just got one shot (and one oral vaccine). This is the picture I took just before her shot and it might as well be the picture I could have taken after she got it because it didn't phase her! She cried out one time and then it was over. She actually cried more when we put her in her car seat (she hates being restrained!). She weighs 12.5 lbs and is 24 and 1/4 inches long and her head was 15 and 1/2. We go back July 5th for more immunizations (or should I say "immunization)! ha ha ha
(And yes, if you look closely, that's a scratch on her left cheek (not dirt on your screen)---I just can't bring myself to clip her nails I am so scared I'm going to hurt her. I am seriously thinking she needs a baby manicure)!!!! I tried filing them but that didn't work so well................

Meet the 2030 Indy 500 Queen!!!!!!!!

Great Uncle Jim and Great Aunt Essie decided Delaney needed an Indy 500 outfit.......and like most colors, ok, all, I think Delaney can really pull off the black and white!
Tiara courtesy of Grandma Cathy (of course)........
This blog was created for Delaney. To keep all of our friends and family updated on her. Therefore, it will continue to be dedicated to Delaney. We all have questions and are asking ourselves "what happened". And, until we know, WITH ACCURATE INFORMATION, I will not be discussing it on the blog. I saw on the news a soldier came home from Afghanistan and he lost both legs. He told the news reporter he had two choices, he could get bitter or better. I have repeated that over and over in my head since hearing it the other day. I choose to get better!!!
