"Cyber Monday"

We thought Cyber Monday would be a good day to go to the mall since everyone would be well, "cyber shopping" from their home, office, or "home office" so we headed to Circle Center Mall with aunt Karey and before shopping treated ourselves to PF Changs for lunch(where they apparently have a policy of no strollers allowed......or, had a policy). Anyway, after strolling ourselves out of there, we hit the Gap to say hi to our friend, Tracy (and to ask for a shopping bag.) "Come on mommy, put the camera down and let's go try on our new stuff"...

Thanksgiving-Part II

I woke up today (at 9:45 a.m. I might add thanks to my girl) to two things (one not appropriate for photographing----I'll take the guess work out of it for you and just tell you I probably used TEN wipes) and the second to this...........(thank goodness we lowered her mattress last week)!! Note her crazy hair!!! On Saturday, we had another Thanksgiving get together with family (and yes, we color coordinated AGAIN).................
And once again, Delaney got to sit at the head of the table........ I am really not sure what our family did before Delaney because all we do is pay attention to her!!!!!!!!!!
After dinner, Delaney decided she'd slip into something more comfortable and go ahead and start cheering for the big game the next day.............GO COLTS!! (Although she was also excited to see IU won in overtime on Saturday).
I couldn't resist snapping this picture....
And on Sunday, she took TWO naps...this was just before the first one! I know, I know, someday I'll regret letting her do this but just look at her, it's so darn cute. I love her finger over her nose. Her second nap was from 4:15 to 6:45 and that's only because I woke her up. I lost count how many times I went to check on her and yes of course I put my hand on her to make sure she was breathing! I am not sure what's gotten into her! Still having some crazy hair......
Here she is ready for the game. She decided to wear her "blue" today. Mom decided to stay home from the game and watch it with Delaney and seeing how she slept for so long she's likely to stay up for the whole thing!! I hope mom can..................
Goodness Gracious I love this little girl................................
We have a busy week ahead of us that of course starts off with a day of shopping tomorrow and not just CYBER!!!

Delaney's First "Black Friday"....

Or, should we say "BLACK OUT FRIDAY"............At 11:20 p.m. on Thanksgiving, we lost power. "WE" as in 100 residents on our street and the one behind us......now, most of you know, this is a common occurrence at our house so we're used to it (unfortunately). But not in the cold!! Who knew when you didn't have power, your gas furnace wouldn't work either. We always lose power in the summer and then of course don't have air conditioning (still can't decide which is worse!) After calling the power company, there was an automated message that a tree was down and it should be fixed by 1:00 a.m. Well, at 2:00 a.m. with shivering lips (added drama) I called back and because I am a "frequent caller" if you will at IPL, I know how to bypass all of their "press 1 for this, press 2 for that" and got a live person....who told me THEY WERE JUST GETTING STARTED and it should be fixed in 45 minutes..........well, let's just say that was the longest 45 minutes in history because the power came back on at 6:30 a.m.!! This may come as a shock to you but as much as I love to shop...I AM NOT A BLACK FRIDAY SHOPPER. I simply do not have the patience for it. I say if I don't know about a deal then I won't be sorry I missed it (plus, I cannot deal with the traffic, parking, long lines, etc and oh ya, let's face it, I am NOT a morning person!!).........I joked and said I almost turned into a Black Friday shopper because we should have just left and gone shopping since stores were open all night AND OH YA, THEY HAD HEAT!!!!!! Here's how Delaney and I spent her first Black Friday............. From the comfort of our own home............

"Most" kids look forward to receiving the toy catalogs in the mail but not my girl!!! And yes, she wants one of "everything"...........

My Little Turkey Is Eight Months Old!!!

We spent Thanksgiving Eve having a slumber party. Aunt Angie came and stayed with us. I love Delaney's look on her face. I think she's saying "can someone get me out of here"???

"Enough of the camera mommy"......

"Mommy, I said ENOUGH of the camera, they've seen me hold my bottle before"....

Now I know what you're thinking, those are NOT traditional Thanksgiving colors. Well, if you read this blog, then you likely know us and you know we are not your "traditional" girls.......just another one of mom's "finds" on Etsy (my new addiction).......oh, and her hat is from Etsy too.

And since you rarely get to see the person behind the camera...................(and yes, we color coordinated today).

We headed off to aunt Trina's with all of our essentials.................

And guess who got to sit at the head of the table........

Of course she got to have turkey too....

"Oh no, mommy's got that camera out again"....................(not sure why we didn't wipe her face).

I think she's trying to decide which to play with first......

The wagon..............

Or this toy (not sure what it was)....

"Hello, mommy, is that you? I was just calling to let you know I don't have any of these toys at home like aunt Trina has for me and I'm not happy about it".

Here's Delaney sitting in her car seat...she must be ready to go....

Turkey must have the same effect on Delaney.......she slept all the way home (and still needed her face wiped).

We have one more Thanksgiving get together and yes, Delaney does have another outfit!!

Delaney is EIGHT months old today! I am still trying to figure out how this happened.......

Dear Delaney Catherine,

Somehow you continue to grow no matter how hard I try to stop it. You weigh 18.9 lbs and are 27 and 1/2 inches. You are eating 24 oz. of formula a day and baby food. You have begun crawling and are a pro at it. Mommy continues to "Delaney proof" the house. YES, this includes changing out the mirrored hallway doors for wood ones and the carpet installers will arrive next week (just kidding, but I did consider it because everytime you bonk your head on our hardwood floors I think I cry more than you do). You continue to be such a good sleeper and average about 9pm-9am. You have even started getting some naps in which is GREAT!! You LOVE I mean LOVE to watch the news and especially like to watch the weather (you definitely get this from your daddy)!! You are wearing 6-9 month clothes and we just lowered your mattress in your crib yesterday. You are a social butterfly just like your mamma and love and go to everyone! You make the funniest sounds and expressions and have the best personality of any baby I have ever known. You give me immeasureably more than I could ever give you in return. You are without a doubt this mamma's whole world and I am so THANKFUL for every minute I have with you. I am so lucky to wake up to you laughing and cooing every morning and for knowing that I get to spend the day with my favorite person in the whole world...........

Love,

Your mommy who is so very thankful for you!

"Hide-N-Seek"

"Delaney.......where are you"?"Delaney, come out come out wherever you are"....
"I'm right here mommy"....
"See, here I am"......
"Just give me a second".....
"What is that game called again mommy"?

"Up Close and Personal"............

Delaney's top teeth don't appear as though they are even remotely proportionate to her bottom! Good thing these aren't going to be permanent!!! It took me two days and no less than 200 shots to get this picture! She moves fast.......................I guess now the only question is Filet Mignon or New York Strip. We know that a fish doesn't exactly go with her farm animal themed exersaucer. Her pony won't seem to stay in so we had to find a replacement (and couldn't find any farm animals). She kept pulling out the pony. She is a mini Hercules she is so darn strong! Notice her pulling on the pig. I am just waiting for one of them to spring forward and bonk her in the face! Of course that would be her first bruise and I am not ready for that! ha
Everyone knows about Jeggins right? Not exactly something mom can pull off but Delaney sure can! And, since it is 68 degrees today, we decided to enjoy a "sock less" day!! And there's those darn cute chubby feet again that I"ve been kissing all day.........

What Have We Been Up To?

Well, on Saturday we went up to the Fashion Mall and discovered what we're just sure is going to be our new favorite store!!! Opening Soon......... I am wondering if this means Delaney doesn't like this book or that she's hungry! And, speaking of books, if Delaney had as many books as she does shoes, she'd likely be reading at the third grade level. So, I have a feeling Santa will be bringing her books (with hard pages of course). What are some of your favorite children's books? We'd love to hear from you...
"Mommy, hurry up, we're going to be late for the game"...............

"What do you mean the game's away? I put on my cowgirl boots and everything..."
"Are you kidding me"?
"I'm outta here then".
"I'm kick'n off my boots".........
"So I can chew on them (Delaney will NOT be singing "All I Want for Christmas is my Two Front Teeth" seeing how they're coming through).............
For a girl who has so many shoes, she rarely wears them. She has chubby feet with a high arch. I see a lot of trips to Stride Rite in our future!! If I were obsessed with her cute little feet and perfect little toes, I would probably kiss them every time I change her!!! Good thing I'm not obsessed with her! (I know, you want to come kiss them now don't you??)
I think she thinks her cowgirl boots are teething toys............
She eventually traded them for her favorite game day socks..........
I'm not sure why she was tired in this picture because she took a TWO HOUR NAP TODAY! Yes, I said TWO HOURS, that's 120 minutes people!
We're gearing up for Delaney's First Thanksgiving (which is code for "trying to decide what outfit to wear).........can you guess what I"m thankful for this year????????
