Uncle David drove up from Bowling Green to celebrate the March birthdays (his included)!

And aunt Catherine slaved all day making a homemade cake.....

That required the whole bottle of green food coloring!!!

Delaney is in full birthday mode and woke up this morning asking if it was her birthday since I told her yesterday it was in one week! Apparently we need to work on days v. weeks! It's gonna be a long one in our house. She has invited anyone who crosses her path to her party and wanted to invite the tree trimmers who were out last week! I can't wait to catch you up on all the funny things she's been saying like....."mommy, did you know Jesus wants you to tell the truth"? I told her I did know that and that Jesus also wants her to talk like a little lady and not ask me to turn down the "freaking" tv! Ok so maybe that wasn't so funny......

I have dubbed our home the house of projects! It was quite the bachelor pad "B.A." (Before Ashley). We are undergoing a complete basement remodel. It is gutted to the rafters and concrete blocks! Delaney informed our contractor she wants "her" basement pink! Ha, that girl!!! Now....just gotta decide what shade!

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like..............................

St. Patrick's Day is one of our favorite holidays and always celebrated in our house! Well, except for "that one"...when I was NINE months pregnant!  When I went to my very first doctor's appointment the doctor told me my due date was March 31, 2010.  I "informed" her that "this baby" will be coming before March 13th (when I turned THIRTY-FIVE) and before St. Patrick's Day!

She kindly "informed" me "babies come when they want".

And, of course, she did!

What kind of mother lands from her international flight and instead of calling to check on her only child she left behind, heads straight to the "Cantina" for a margarita????

Coming home from Cabo is as they say ninguna diversión!!!

Instead of looking at the snow, I thought we could suffer together what sunny and 80 looks like.

Oh, and if you're wondering how Delaney did while I was away, here she is when I got home...

This trip couldn't have happened without A. Friends who invite you on an all expense paid trip and B. Grandparents who live their lives for this girl!! 

Muchas Gracias Grandparents!!!!!!!

I mean who else but grandparents would THANK ME for letting them watch Delaney!!

And I can't blog without mentioning a "this could only happen to me" story.  Who else do you know could end up at the fire station in Mexico and run into a firefighter who recently retired from the firehouse where Dave worked??? As I said, only me!!!!!!!!!

Cabo had all of the makings of what a stay at home mom dreams of doing on vacation.......

An uninterrupted hour long (or so) bath

Painting my nails AND using a top coat and reading more magazines than I can count! Who knew Sarah Michelle Gellar has kids!!!!! This is not the kind of stuff I learn about reading Parenting!

So it's back to the reality of turning down my own bed at night (the small towels are put down on the ceramic tile so your feet don't get cold)..........

And instead of waking up to the sound of the ocean

I'm back to waking up to "mommy, do I have school today", "mommy, can I watch t.v.", "mommy, I"m thirsty"........And I wouldn't have it any other way!!!!
