"Tangled"

I'd like to say this didn't happen on my watch, just a few feet away, but it did. I knew it was going to be beyond anything I could fix so I called in the expert, Delaney's aunt/hair stylist.  Within 30 minutes, we were at her house..............
But not before (unbeknownst to me, Delaney grabbed a stocking hat to wear in the car so NO ONE WOULD SEE HER WHILE WE WERE DRIVING)............I know what you're thinking, and yep, she is 100% my child!!!
After several people helped, the solution seemed easy, break apart her comb!!!   We were all shocked there was no cutting involved.

Lake Livin'

I know you're patiently waiting to see Disney pictures but unfortunately (or, fortunately) there are over 800 so that's going to take a little while!  In the meantime, we didn't waste any time getting home and heading to the lake.....and when we got there, Delaney was down one tooth...............
And by evening, two!!! (And yes, her right thumb fits perfectly right through there)!!
Some of you will get how funny this picture is since Delaney is "allergic" to dogs!! :-)
Waiting her turn...........
And of course we had some very "pinteresting" smores...........Delaney kept saying "can we go smoring yet"
Pretzels, marshmallows, and Reese cups!! You know, if you're into the whole "sweet and salty" thing! (Disregard the nail "new growth")
And they were even Delaney approved!!!
Working on her tan (which was never going to happen with all of the sunscreen I sprayed on her).
I know it looks like she is left unattended out on the lake but she's really not (I promise grandmas)!!
Oh gosh, and it looks like she is again here...oops. My girl loves the lake!!!
Can't you tell.................

Another one bites the dust......

And another one's gone, another one's gone..........

"Mommy, my tooth is "super crooked"................................

This is what Delaney told me in our conversation Saturday night while she was at grandma's house.
And then I got this!!!

I just had to laugh because in most families, a first missing tooth isn't that big of a deal but in Delaney's family, it's a big deal! I was getting texts from her grandma and then turning around and texting her other grandma and grandpa and other friends and family members! Yes, that happened.  It's what we do...it's called having an only child (and for some, grandchild)!

So here is the text I got from her grandma who was on "back up tooth fairy duty".
"She says she can't say her T's now, she has to drink out of a straw and she can't talk".
But my personal favorite text went like this..........

"SHE WANTS TO HAVE A PARTY"!!!

And the unanimous response I got when I sent that text out to friends and family was...

"SHE IS SO YOUR DAUGHTER"

She woke up at 6:00 a.m. (thank goodness at her grandma's house) to make sure the tooth fairy came.
Then went back to bed until a more decent hour!
