"Technical Difficulties"

In a word.....................SPYWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We should have our laptop back early this week (despite going nuts not having access to the "outside world") it's been a good week to be without internet service since I have to finish my book for book club this week.

Stay tuned.

Updates

Delaney continues to have visitors. Angie came to visit us on Saturday and look what she brought Delaney. She LOVES her new bouncy seat (and not just because it's in our "signature colors")......... And look what she brought mom!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU ANGIE......
Delaney decided she wanted to mix things up a bit and not wear pink. We put her in pale yellow and of course, think she looks adorable. (And NO, we haven't given up the Moses basket yet!)
I stumbled upon a new recipe this weekend on the back of the...........
Hidden Valley Ranch dressing bottle.
I think my dish turned out close to the picture on the bottle. *Note--it says to cook the chicken for 25 minutes but mine took 45 (maybe because I doubled the amount of cheese!)
Today is Aunt Trina's Birthday!! If Delaney was awake (oh, and could talk) we're just sure she'd say.....................
We went today for Delaney's ultrasound of her hips and follow up orthopedic appointment. IT WAS AN ALL DAY EVENT!! She was a perfect angel and slept most of the time. The radiologist determined there is a slight variation in her measurements on the left side. They are not very concerned over it but do want us to follow up in August for an x-ray. Assuming that is negative, there will be another follow up at one year.

"Polk A Dots"

Delaney designated today "polk a dot" day!! I had no idea she had a nightgown, hat and blanket that all matched (3 different people bought her each item)!!! I couldn't resist a picture. She sure knows how to coordinate!! Just some random picatures....

Delaney decided she wanted to wear pink today (surprise surprise) and decided on this outfit which so happens to have something on her "bum". Her dad said that wearing these things on her "bum" can only attract "negative attention". But, when you're 7 weeks old and not allowed out of the house how much "negative attention" can you attract!?!?!?!?

"Lady In Red"

The last time Delaney wore this outfit, she had a MAJOR BLOW OUT in it before I could take her picture. Delaney, unlike her mom, looks so cute in red. I have never worn red and in fact, don't think I own anything red! I"m not surprised she can pull it off---I haven't put her in a color she didn't look adorable in! ha ha ha Here she is modeling the buttons that match the polk a dots on her shirt!!!
Delaney's first tummy time!!!

Dad doesn't like her to wear things "on the butt" but I couldn't resist this picture, I just love this outfit..(oh, and if you're wondering NO, I did not color coordinate her outfit with her playtime mat)!! ha ha ha

In "other news" apparently Delaney is not the least bit afraid of storms and like her mom sleeps right through them! She, for the first time EVER, slept for EIGHT straight hours last night! She is just like her mom and loves her "uninterrupted sleep"! ha

1st Mother's Day

Thank you everyone for the text messages, phone calls and.......................... My Mother's day started early (as in 4:00 a.m.) when Delaney woke up. I walked into her nursery and boy did it stink. I thought "oh good, she did a #2 (lately she hasn't been having many #2's so I get overly excited when she does ha ha!).....I was right. Now, this little "present" she left me didn't smell near as good as the next one.....................Delaney got me some beautiful pink flowers.
Speaking of diapers, our little girl has "graduated" from newborn to size 1. Boy are they bigger than the newborns (and to be quite honest, she probably could have gone into size 1's a week or so ago but I wasn't "ready"). I look at these and think what's next---college applications! ha!
So are you wondering what we did on Mother's Day?????---dad worked so Delaney and I took that as our opportunity to go A.W.O.L. We took grandma Cathy to brunch at Stone Creek!! This was Delaney's first "public appearance" and she did great.

Delaney woke up and wanted to wear what else PINK. She decided since it was a little chilly out, she'd wear her pink Juicy Couture velour outfit (purchased by her dad before she was born). Let it be known that I don't even have Juicy Couture clothes!

I thought the bib was appropriate on Mother's Day!!!

It was high time we "initiate" Delaney. We started at Macy's.....

And then headed to Von Maur. Delaney woke up when we walked into Von Maur so I told her dad it must mean it's her favorite store (like mother like daughter like grandma)!!! Her dad said that is just fine with him as long as it's not Victoria's Secret!!

We went immediately to our favorite department----SHOES (p.s. Dad, we're just letting you know that Kenneth Cole makes baby shoes) WHO KNEW??????

Delaney enjoyed her day out and here's what she did when we got home..............

Delaney Catherine,
I could spend the rest of my life just staring at you...........................

"Big Head"

I keep saying Delaney is going to get a big head if she keeps having visitors. (Her dad wants her to have a big head because he says a big head means a big brain!) We had a fun visit on Friday from some of my co-workers!! They came on their lunch hour so it was a short visit. We hope dad will let us out of the house soon so people won't have to keep coming to the house to see Delaney. Thanks for coming to visit Chris, Cindy and Karen!!! And look what finally arrived!! David's U.S. Open tickets...........these of course were purchased "pre-Delaney" and as you might guess ARE FOR SALE! Ironically, David will be in California during the U.S. Open for work (but hours away). Despite the fact David insists Delaney is going to be a pro golfer, it's probably a little too early to take her...maybe next year!! ha ha

"Dr. Phil"

Dear Dr. Phil,

YES, your new granddaughter, Avery Elizabeth McGraw, is a beautiful baby. Is she the most beautiful baby in the world? uh....NO! Big deal People magazine photographed Avery....THAT'S ONLY BECAUSE DELANEY TURNED THEM DOWN!! (ha)

I think Delaney is just about to graduate from the Moses Basket---I just hate the thought of her outgrowing it!!

Cinco De Mayo

It doesn't have to be Cinco De Mayo for us to have mexican. We have it about once a week!YUM Delaney and I woke up this morning to a power outage (we have them frequently). 119 customers were without power for about five hours due to a transformer issue. Here's what I did to pass the time. I just know the girls are going to kick me out of book club if I don't get on the ball and get my book read (I'm suppose to actually be reading the next one already)!!!
Here's what Delaney does during a power outage....................

And here's what Delaney does when there is no power outage.................

"Grandma's Not Sick Anymore"

Delaney finally got a visit today from grandma and grandpa---and a peacock! Grandma had been sick and hadn't gotten to come over. Her new peacock plays music.Delaney has been very fussy today and it's been a LONG day. After grandma and grandpa left, I got a horrible migraine (I haven't had one in a very long time) and luckily still had some prescription medicine I was allowed to take during pregnancy. Since Delaney was fussy, getting her to nap today was a HUGE task and when I would finally get her to nap, it wasn't for long. I tried to rest but unfortunately with my migraines, comes vomitting (sorry, I know that might be more information than you care to hear but I'm just defending myself for WHY I CALLED IN BACK UP) i.e. grandma had to come back over. I needed the extra hands for when Delaney got up........we decided she was having a very constipated day and once grandma when to the pharmacy and got some suppositories (which literally provided INSTANT results)...here's what happened next!!! Thank you grandma!!!

Grandma Terry came for her weekly visit on Sunday and sure knows the way to my heart...oh how I miss catching up on the celebrity gossip. Seems these days I've traded People magazine for baby books....and now that Delaney is sleeping (see above picture) I can do some catching up! Thank you Terry!

"Delaney's 1st Derby"

I tried to get Delaney to look at the camera when I was taking her picture but she was much more interested in watching the Kentucky Derby! That's my girl!!! I LOVE to watch the Derby and tell David every year how someday I want to go. He of course can see right through me and says it's just because I want to wear one of those great big hats!! I can't lie---he's right! I am starting my girl off right by wearing a hat during the Derby. Now, I realize this is not a typical Derby hat but at 5 weeks, it's age appropriate!! I've decided horse racing is the perfect sport for women because the races only last 2 minutes! Of course after the Derby, dad switched it to Nascar. So then I had to inform Delaney the only way to watch Nascar is to pick the cutest driver---but of course Jeff Gordon didn't win...I think she liked watching the Derby better!
