School's Out For Summer!!!!!!

Once I woke up this little thumb sucking Troll look alike on Friday, it was game ON.
No one was more excited than me to turn off the alarm for summer get the day started!!!

See what I mean????? She didn't know the plan was to erase the number each day....

Pancakes with chocolate chips for breakfast---sure, no problem!!

I "may" have forgotten to get stuff for her summer bucket so I just took a quick trip to the garage and filled it.

I have a very strong aversion to "bucket lists" so I made a Summer Fun 2017 list to go with her bucket.

Our list of fun things to do this summer!! We're also squeezing in some fun trips to new places.

Delaney wasted no time letting everyone know she's on to First Grade!!! She is beyond excited for her "own desk". She also told me she's tired of "single file lines".....

She told EVERYONE (including complete strangers) she "graduated Kindergarten".

Delaney wasted no time getting in the pool.

And just like that, IT"S SUMMER BREAK, oh, and I have a First Grader.............

Grief is the Price of Love.......

I'll never know how he gave all the love he had stored up in his lifetime for her in just eight short weeks.......but I'm sure glad he did!!!

And as far as us, well, we're just going to keep on living above our circumstances............

(and apparently continue celebrating his beloved Cubbies)

It will always be hard, after time, it just turns into a different kind of hard.

"MOMS" the word.....

And here I thought it was Mother's Day weekend!!

Delaney wanted "bed and breakfast" as in MY bed.

She has now officially named the day before Mother's Day "Daughter's Day"

The day was filled with cards, a kazillion text messages, the most beautiful color of roses I have ever seen (champagne color), and dinner at one of my favorite places, Harry & Izzy's!

The greatest joy of my life came at age 35 and she calls me mom.........

Looks a lot like a teenager.......

The other night Delaney said "before you know it, I'll be 20".

I said "yes, and I will be living in a 55 and over senior community"

Field Trip

There's nothing Kindergarteners enjoy more than a field trip (if not just for the fact they get to ride a bus!). One of the moms sent this picture to me of little miss smiley!

Headband v. Bow

I told Delaney to go put on a headband before school and she came out like this and said "everyone knows a bow is way more fashionable than a headband"...................

So This Happened......................

We picked up Delaney from school and went straight to the mall to get her ears pierced.

Only one of us chickened out! I just couldn't do it.......:-)

Delaney stood and watched a little girl get her ears pierced and I'll be honest, I REALLY wanted the little girl to cry and scream and throw a fit but she just made a face and it didn't scare Delaney one bit! I told her we'd try again when she's 17! In the meantime, we compromised on clip on and magnetic earrings (who knew they had them for little girls)!!!!
