"The Graduate"

Today was Delaney's Preschool Graduation or what I like to call THE LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!!! And NO ONE is more excited than me.  As soon as the alarm went off this morning, I shut it off for good (well, until Kindergarten at least).  How fitting, the ONE day in the history of preschool (two years) we were early! That just doesn't happen in "our world". As I was driving I had to do a mental checklist to confirm she A. ate breakfast B. brushed her teeth C. WAS IN THE CAR!!

Each kid was called up to get their "Diploma" and as Delaney got hers, the teacher said "my sweet Delaney, what am I going to do without seeing your smile". Delaney is always smiling. "Dear Delaney, may you always find something to smile about, I know I do"!  She also asked each kid what their favorite part of preschool was and my little brown noser said "getting to see Mrs. F" (#girlcanlayitonthick)!!!

They did a recap of what they learned in school, we hit the office to inform them she won't be returning next year (sniff, sniff) and then we did what you would expect the Newsom girls to do.....we hit the mall and lunch!! Delaney found a larger than life size Minnie Mouse that she thought would fit perfectly on her bed! I told her it was bigger than her bed and she would see Minnie soon enough she didn't need to take up residence with us! Her grandma said "well how much was it" in that grandma tone...you know the one!  I told her IT DIDN'T MATTER!!!

Before I know it, this will be the "real deal".

Delaney was so excited to get her "Diploma".

Doing a "silly face" group photo....

The teacher could have done a better job of matching Delaney's lei if you ask me!  (And the other moms could have done a much better job dressing their kids up for a luau).

It was such a bittersweet day having to say goodbye to her teachers and all of her classmates (well, all of them besides Emma, turns out her mom and dad really did get married)!  As you know from this blog, I could not be happier with Delaney's school and teacher (she had the same one both years). But I guess you can't stay in preschool forever.........

Here is a comparison from the first and last day of school this year.

And a whole lot of knowledge in between!
