Christmas with the Kranks....I mean Newsoms!!!

Life is all about accessorizing.....Has everyone seen Christmas with the Kranks? It's with Tim Allen and Jamie Lee Curtis. They decide to cancel "doing Christmas" because their daughter isn't coming home for the holidays so Tim Allen decides they would spend what they would normally spend on Christmas and go on a cruise....then their daughter ends up coming home and they have a very short period of time to get everything ready in time for Christmas before she arrives. Well, Delaney and I are NOT going on a cruise but we are scrambling around like crazy this week before Christmas getting everything done! Here is how we've spent the last two days while grandma Terry visited (who may NEVER come back if we ask her to help us bake again!)...................... We made pink (of course) candy cane sugar cookies....
Peanut butter cookies with chocolate fudge "sandwiched" in between.......(we also made Oreo truffles, fudge, and oatmeal cookies) YUMMY!!!!
We put everything in fun containers....(for me, it wasn't about the baking so much...it was more about the "presentation" of our cookies) and delivered them to our neighbors today.....oh, and decided WE WILL LEAVE THE BAKING TO PAULA, MARTHA AND RACHEL!!! I think we may just go ahead and take that cruise after all to recover!!! Baking is several things (tiring, messy, etc) and just not something we ever want to do again.......thanks for sticking with us grandma. We have closed our kitchen and hope to not see it again for a very long time!!!! We've also decided that all of that standing can only lead to one thing...foot massages!
Wonder why you are seeing a picture of our clock??? Well, the other day Delaney took a nap at 1:30 p.m. AND THIS IS WHAT TIME SHE WOKE UP. I stopped counting how many times I went to check on her after about 100!! I was so excited about this long nap, I was giddy! I just didn't know what to do with myself............
So, I did a little of this......
And of course we continue to get.......................

"Thanks Mr. UPS driver, see you tomorrow, we'll leave the light on.........."
