When did she turn into a teenager???

"I was exhausted"......

That's what Delaney told me when I showed her this picture......I told her taking care of babies (and bears) is exhausting!!!

Picture Day

Delaney's class had to bring in a baby picture so they can guess who's who. After much thought, she chose this one. I'm hoping she didn't choose it so Oscar can see her in a bathing suit.....

I can remember the day I took this, it of course seems like it was yesterday!!!  

They also had to tell why we named them what we did. Naming your child is so hard. Especially when your husband shoots down ALL of your names (speaking from experience of course). One day David said he'd come up with a "good Irish name".  I was over it so I just said okay!! 

Everyone always tells Delaney she has a pretty name. One of the contractors at our house the other day told her she has the prettiest name he's ever heard. I'm guessing he let his wife name their daughter!!  LIKE IT SHOULD BE!!!!

Just last night this happened...a man came up to Delaney and told her how pretty her eyes are (which also happened last week at a funeral). The man asked her her name and little miss personality told him to guess! He said "well I don't need to guess because I bet your daddy calls you beautiful".  And, he's right! Everyday her daddy held her and said "Delaney Catherine, you are sooooo beautiful".  The girl's gonna have a big head to go with her big eyes!!!!!!  And then the man proceeded to give Delaney his business card. He was a minister to truck drivers!!! I really can't make up this stuff friends....

"My Life is Ruined"...

Delaney told me her life is ruined when I told her we didn't have time for a braid in a messy bun this morning.............

Oscar This, Oscar That

Today was an out of uniform day for Delaney.  She said "I wonder what Oscar will wear"....and she told me she is never wearing her blue shoes in front of Oscar because they aren't fashionable!!! 

UPDATE......Oscar wore a Peyton Manning jersey!

Free Cucumbers

Delaney had to take in seeds to school for science class. They are going to try to guess what the seeds will grow into. After going to several places, we ended up at the nursery where we buy our last minute, picked over, Christmas tree every year. They gave them to me for free when I told them I had "just" the one kid....here's Delaney holding her cucumber seeds for science class (which by the way, I had no idea she even has a science class)!! 

Every morning before we leave for school she runs down to her imaginary bus stop to catch her imaginary bus......

She brought this home from school. She prays for her dad and I'm not sure who else but that clearly doesn't say mom! I asked her if she thought about writing mom and she said "no, sorry, I didn't but maybe if we do it again I'll remember".  I told her that would be great since I'm the one who has to live with her and all.....(she later told me it says firefighter).....
