Last Christmas was one of my favorite's but I'm pretty sure Christmas when you're 4 may be even better than when you're 3..................

Just before this was taken, we all stood around talking about our upcoming trip to Florida and how we're stuck with each other......these are Dave's high school friends, they don't have to keep us around! But I'm sure glad they choose to!
We had a great tailgating season this year with great weather! I don't think they'll ever know how much they mean to us but as I've said before, it's not surprising a great guy would leave behind such great friends.....
I waste a lot of time on it.....I was recently reminded "all kids get cavities", "it's just kindergarten".....and the truth is, they were right!!! But, I'm a mom, and it's what we do.
I have to admit, I refreshed the blog several times before I realized it really has been a month since I updated! So needless to say, we've been busy! After the best beach trip, we had Halloween, an unbelievable Thanksgiving and have been going nonstop ever since. I have lots of updating to do but in the meantime, I had to post Delaney's first trip to SkyZone!
And I'm not talking about the fact Santa is on his way......there is a new display this year! Now we just have to find Delaney the perfect coordinating rustic outfit! She says she made her list for Santa but it's all secrets......this should be fun!

We had an unbelievable beach vacation. You know, the kind where you come straight home and start looking for next year?
Although this little girl put on this bathing suit and hat and said "I look like a Hawaii girl, mommy, can we go to Hawaii".....Day ONE of her non-Hawaii vacation!

Now, who's going to help me unpack? I went from one suitcase to another when we got home and they "may" both still be sitting in our kitchen. I think the cleaning lady is still on vacation!
This was our first vacation without the stroller and Delaney did great! She wheeled her firetruck suitcase through the airport like a seasoned traveler. One lady stopped and said "that's quite the little traveler you've got there". She is so much fun to go on vacation with maybe we will rethink Hawaii. She thought our hotel room was an apartment and was upset someone was going to live in it after we left. We may have another trip this year to the big apple and then some fun ones already for next year including a family vacation for 22 to the mountains! And to The Happiest Place on Earth (which the thought of planning makes it sound like The Most Stressful Place on Earth)! Thank you Pinterest!
After MANY attempts, we were finally able to make it to Holiday World. And of course, as we pulled in and "someone" saw the water park, I heard "mommy, did you bring my bathing suit"?
I wish I would have recorded Delaney seeing Logan. She hadn't seen him since May. They ran up to each other and embraced each other like it had been years (and then after that, fought like brother and sister for the rest of the day)! Logan introduced Delaney to Lexi (his sister) and said "Lexi, this is my cousin, DeWaney". Oh these kids! We informed him that DeWaney is her cousin too!
And little miss "DeWaney" is a rides fanatic! She would ride the rollercoasters if she were allowed. Her favorite ride was the Tilt A Whirl (or in this case, Turkey Whirl).
I think Delaney was right....it was the Best Day Ever!
My mom always says that's because she's had a camera in her face since the minute she was born! Here's our latest conversation........"Mommy, I told my teachers you're 39"......."Delaney, you know it's not nice to lie to people"!!!!
I know what you're thinking and no, they didn't have the jean jackets for adults!
You know, the one I completely forgot I ordered a year ago! And of course, it was a typical "Ashley story" trying to locate it.......but two trips, 7 people, and a call to the Colts later, we found it!!
Delaney had a great time at soccer (and wasn't shy at all) no surprise there! The kids don't get their shirts, shorts and socks until their first game so of course that means I'll be bringing ALL of her hair bows since we don't know their team color.....
Getting haircuts because grandma said she needed one...

Did I mention yet what a great summer we're having????? Delaney loves gymnastics and soccer is about to start (just as soon as a parent volunteers to coach!) School is going great especially the fire drill they had this week which was "so awesome"!! Even though they couldn't get the alarm to shut off for an hour and the kids had to go outside while the firetruck came. Delaney told me she didn't see Maverick (our dog) or her daddy! Oh this girl......I love how I knew about the fire drill before I even picked her up. Two people drove by and saw Delaney outside and immediately called to tell me!! YOU ARE MY PEOPLE! Delaney's teacher has a new assistant this year who tells her she loves her when she puts her in the car! I don't blame her, I don't know how you could know Delaney and not love her!
We had a great weekend full of cousins, a cookout and bridal showers! Dave's family is good at having babies and getting married! And when the bride's sister lives in "the South", you can bet your shower will be "chock full" of chicken salad, sweet tea and mason jars! Delaney thought we were going to the wedding and I told her we were missing a very important element....The Groom!
Jenny and Cory had a couples "honeymoon" shower! I love the "specificity". They are going to Mexico so there was a taco bar complete with homemade guacamole (my new obsession)! Speaking of Mexico, I learned my watch is still set to "Cabo time". Maybe they'll take us with them! I'll leave it set just in case.......

My husband David and I were married in December of 2007 after 4 years of dating. I knew 2 weeks after we met (on a blind date--they really work!!) that I would marry him. I am a paralegal and he is a firefighter. We enjoy Colts games, tailgating, and hanging out with friends. We had our little girl, Delaney, on March 25, 2010 and are enjoying every second of parenthood. After almost 10 years at my job, I left to stay home with Delaney. If you know me, you know that I LOVE to plan parties/events!! I am always thinking of "the next one". My dream is to someday turn this "hobby" into reality but for now, I"m going to focus on motherhood. Enjoy taking a peek into our lives....
