I like how she thinks (or should I say applies)!! No sunburns around here....
I told the driver "don't worry, the Nordstrom Anniversary sale ends soon".........He said, "see you tomorrow"(ladies, order your Zella pants STAT)!
We have been grilling like crazy.....
Even pizza!
I had to take a picture of the ONE AND ONLY nap Delaney has taken all summer!
She wants to wear a messy bun everyday!
We made no bake cookies that did not turn out and I pretty much decided I have to be the only person who can mess up no bake cookies. Turns out, I'm not (thanks to Elaine)! I told uncle Mark I was not going to be defeated by a no bake cookie and made them again and the cookies did not win! You type A's understand, right????
Our tree skirt came and is even better in person! But for the fact we get a real one, I think I would go ahead and put up our Christmas tree! Our beach bags also came and Delaney has approximately 52 new pair of flip flops. We are ready for the beach!
Delaney asked if I would get her a sandbox so she can build sandcastles. Cute, but likely never going to happen....
I asked her if we could just go to the beach instead and she said "sure".....
So, we booked flights and our new beach bags have been ordered.....Delaney saw a picture of our room and said "oh good, it has a remote"!!! Really?????
And we may or may not be taking the girl who was working the Wendy's drive thru with us due to my attempt at multi-tasking...."only me"!
Delaney wanted us to wear our matching hats (so we would be "twinsies") and again said "we can wear these when we go to New York". I told her we would get kicked out of Bloomy's!!!
She likes to sit at the top row even when no one else is in the theater!
My imaginative little 4 year old said this was the Japanese Zoo and she was using similar colors to paint a gorilla! I love every little stinkin thing about this girl and her imagination is no exception!
(I know who you really want to see pictures of but I've been trying to do a better job of getting in front of the camera with Delaney instead of always being behind it)
Well nothing if it's normal for a 4 year old to go with the hygienist from the waiting room to get her teeth cleaned all by herself! Who doesn't need their mommy in the room with them??!??!?! I guess I'll just drop her off next time!
She told the dentist she is going to stop sucking her thumb when she is 100!
Despite the picture, Delaney was so excited for her cousin (who is hardly a baby and who is taller than her) to come to town! She came home with an extra baby from uncle David and aunt Teresa. We need more car seats.....
I know I would be in trouble quoting a Democrat on our blog but I love the message and let's face it, I've been given A LOT, and she deserves A LOT!!!!!
Speaking of Presidents, Delaney keeps talking about Abraham Lincoln! She must be ready to go back to school. I however, am not ready to spend TEN hours a week away from her (or start setting an alarm, I just don't think there's anything natural about it!). I should probably join a gym or something but surely I can find a much better way to spend 3 mornings a week! I discreetly took a picture of one of the moms at gymnastics and text it to my friend and said "I want to start dressing cute like this like we just came from the gym". She replied "I only have the headband". I said, "me too, let's shop"!
And speaking of gymnastics, they called and want to move Delaney up a class with the bigger girls! We'll see how this goes! My first response was "um, well, how early is that class"? Let's just say, I better set my alarm! Oh, and the other night Delaney got a hold of my phone and did this.......
I am pretty sure I have never gotten up at ANY of those times!
I apparently always have a 4th of July party but have no recollection of it! Didn't matter, we went with it! Our "few friends" turned into 25 people coming over. Our 4th of July party lasted into the 5th of July! It was tons of fun and two days later, we were all still texting about it (along with how sore we were and why our bodies were bruised) and the lights and volleyball net were still up--I did send back the bounce house! I'll let the pictures (and video) speak for themselves...
It was a very "pinteresting" party!!
I'm thinking the lights need to stay up permanently. They were so pretty.
Tic Tac Toe for the kids and volleyball and a 3 legged race for the adults.....(crips v. bloods a/k/a red bandanas v. blue).
Still up..........
Sent back and SOMEONE wasn't happy about it. Delaney thought I BOUGHT IT!
It was a great weekend filled with fireworks, food, friends and fun! Oh, and a concert where Delaney may or may not have learned the words to AC/DC's "Back in Black"....I am one proud momma!
I will definitely remember our "annual" party next year. Who could forget all that fun!
Target may have already put out their school supplies but we are just getting started!!!!!
We decided to wait awhile before going to see the new orangutan exhibit at the zoo. And apparently, so did everyone else! Crowds are not my thing! But, she is.......
Delaney and I are a lot like orangutans, we only come out when we have to! Delaney's favorite animals are the giraffes (just like her daddy) although she wanted in with the lions so she could pet them! My favorite are the polar bears and they weren't out much. They should go hang out with the orangutans!
My husband David and I were married in December of 2007 after 4 years of dating. I knew 2 weeks after we met (on a blind date--they really work!!) that I would marry him. I am a paralegal and he is a firefighter. We enjoy Colts games, tailgating, and hanging out with friends. We had our little girl, Delaney, on March 25, 2010 and are enjoying every second of parenthood. After almost 10 years at my job, I left to stay home with Delaney. If you know me, you know that I LOVE to plan parties/events!! I am always thinking of "the next one". My dream is to someday turn this "hobby" into reality but for now, I"m going to focus on motherhood. Enjoy taking a peek into our lives....
